Typical file sizes vary widely
Resolution alone does not determine size. Duration, bitrate, frame rate, codec and audio all matter. A short compressed scene may use a few gigabytes, while a long high-bitrate 8K or 12K download can require tens of gigabytes.
Use bitrate for a better estimate
File size in gigabytes is approximately bitrate in megabits per second multiplied by duration in seconds, divided by 8,000. A 60 Mbps one-hour video is roughly 27 GB before small container and audio differences.
How much free space to keep
Leave room for temporary downloads, app updates and smooth operation. If you keep a large library, computer or network storage is more practical than keeping every file on the headset.
Choosing headset capacity
For mostly streaming use, lower capacity can be sufficient. For frequent high-resolution downloads, choose more storage or plan a routine for transferring and deleting files. Headset storage is usually not expandable with a memory card.
