Why 8K can matter even on lower-resolution displays
A headset sees only part of the full 180-degree frame at once. Higher source resolution gives the player more detail to sample for the current field of view, so an 8K source can improve clarity even when the display is not literally 8K per eye.
Bitrate is the hidden specification
Resolution describes pixel dimensions, not how much detail survives compression. Motion, skin texture and fine edges can look soft in a low-bitrate encode. Compare sample quality rather than choosing by resolution label alone.
Streaming requirements
Consistent high-resolution streaming needs a fast local network and a server that can deliver stable throughput. If playback stalls, reduce quality or use an authorized download for local playback.
Storage and codec support
High-quality files can be very large. Modern codecs reduce size but require compatible decoding hardware and player software. Confirm supported formats before downloading a full scene.
